Nine seconds became nineteen minutes
I timed it, because I didn't believe it. His old bowl: gone before I'd sat down. First go with this: 19 minutes and he was still working at the ball. I've made dinner in peace twice this week.

The PawPace turns one scoop of wet food into twenty minutes of actual work. A bristled lick crown, a ball that refuses to sit still, and a base too heavy to shove across the kitchen.
Soft silicone · rolling ball included · three pieces, no seams
Same portion. Twenty times longer.
A flat bowl gives a dog nothing to solve. Head down, three swallows, done — then he's stood at your feet with nothing to do and a stomach that filled faster than it should have.
The PawPace removes the shortcut. Food spreads thin across a dense silicone crown and clings to a loose centre ball. There is no mouthful to take. There is only tongue work.
A lick mat is a puzzle your dog solves once. A rolling ball is a puzzle that moves every time he touches it.
Twenty minutes of quiet, compressed.
Licking is repetitive, low-stakes work — the kind of task a dog can disappear into. That's why this gets pulled out before the vacuum comes on, before guests arrive, before a call you can't have barking through.
Load it with broth, plain yoghurt, pumpkin or wet food. Freeze it and twenty minutes becomes closer to forty.
The centre ball sits loose in its well. Every push of the tongue rolls it somewhere new, so the puzzle resets itself instead of being solved once and abandoned.
1.65" ball · includedConcentric silicone nubs hold food as a thin film across the whole crown. Nothing pools into one scoopable pocket he can clear in a single pass.
Soft on gums · flexibleA wide 6.8" skirt, a low 2.24" profile and a fixed suction pad underneath. No chasing a bowl across tile, no flipped dinner under the radiator.
Best grip on smooth floorsShell lifts off the inner base and the ball drops out. Three pieces, nothing sealed, nothing you have to dig at with a brush handle.
Hand wash or top rackBase holds. Bowl stays put.
Low rim. No neck strain.
250 ml isn't a full dinner bowl — that's deliberate. It's one portion of wet food, spread thin, made to last. Load it, hand it over, get your evening back.
Gulpers, kibble-inhalers, dogs that need a job for twenty minutes, crate training, nail trims, thunderstorms, and any evening you need the kitchen quiet.
Heavy destructive chewers, dogs that swallow objects, or unsupervised use. This is a licking instrument, not a chew toy — we'd rather say so than take the return.
Broth, yoghurt, wet food — freeze for longer
The ball measures 1.65" and sits in a recessed centre well, so it rolls under the tongue rather than being picked up like a toy. It lifts out only when you take it out to clean.
That said: this is a lick station for supervised feeding, not a chew toy left in a crate. If your dog is a known object-swallower or a determined destructive chewer, skip it — we'd rather lose the sale than have that conversation.
It's sized to hold one portion of wet food, broth or yoghurt spread thin across the bristle crown — the whole point is surface area, not volume. A deep bowl would defeat it, because depth is what lets a dog take mouthfuls.
If you feed large volumes of dry kibble as a full meal, keep your regular bowl and use this for wet food, toppers and enrichment sessions.
Three things stop that: a wide 6.8" skirt, a low 2.24" centre of gravity, and a fixed suction pad on the underside. Nothing to hook a paw under, nothing tall enough to tip.
Honest caveat — suction grips best on smooth, clean, dry surfaces like tile, sealed wood or laminate. On carpet you're relying on footprint and weight, which still handles most dogs.
The shell is thick, flexible food-grade silicone — it bends rather than cracking, which is exactly why plastic slow feeders shatter at the maze walls and this doesn't. Bristles compress under the tongue and spring back.
It is built for licking pressure, not sustained teeth. Take it up between sessions and it outlasts every hard-plastic feeder in the cupboard.
It separates into three pieces — shell, ball, inner base. No sealed cavities, no glued joins, nothing needing a bottle brush. Rinse under the tap in under a minute, or put all three on the dishwasher's top rack.
Silicone releases dried food instead of bonding to it, so a frozen yoghurt session doesn't turn into a scraping job.
Bone broth, plain unsweetened yoghurt, wet food, pumpkin purée, mashed banana, soaked kibble, or a thin smear of any dog-safe topper. Freeze it and one load stretches roughly twice as long.
Skip xylitol, chocolate, grapes, onion and anything else already off the menu for dogs — the bowl doesn't change food safety rules.

We had two flat lick mats and she cracked the pattern on both within a week. The ball moves, so there's no pattern to crack. That's the difference nobody explains properly.
Ordered it worried the rim would be too high for her. It's genuinely low — she gets in without stretching her neck. Frozen yoghurt in it is now our vet-visit bribe.
On kitchen tile it does not budge, exactly as described. On the living room rug it slides a bit — but that's physics, not the bowl. Four stars only because I wish the pad were bigger.
Every other enrichment thing we own has a crevice I attack with a toothbrush. This comes apart into three bits and goes in the dishwasher. That's why it's still in rotation.
He panics in storms. Frozen broth in this gives him something to fixate on and he settles instead of pacing. Not what I bought it for, but it's why I'd buy it again.
She is the most food-motivated animal I have ever met and she cannot cheat this. No splashing across the floor either, which was half my problem before.
One wasn't going to work with two dogs — they both wanted it. Now they eat at opposite ends of the kitchen, quietly, at the same time.
My fault entirely, I skimmed the dimensions. It's a portion, not a full dinner bowl. Once I used it for wet food instead of her main meal it became the best thing we own.
Frozen, loaded, into the crate. He now goes in willingly and works at it until he falls asleep. Whoever put the ball in the middle deserves a raise.
I expected floppy. It's substantial — properly heavy for its size and the bristles have real spring. Six weeks of daily use, zero marks on it.
First session he nosed at it and gave up. Second time, once I smeared food onto the bristles instead of just filling the middle, he got it and hasn't stopped since. Load it right and it works.
Her old steel bowl sprayed food a foot in every direction. This holds everything inside the crown. I've stopped mopping after dinner, which I didn't expect to be the selling point.
That's the review. Twenty minutes. Every evening. I'd take that alone and the dog happens to love it too.

One bowl. One ball. Twenty minutes back.
